After finding our perfect section in Tamahere, Hamilton we wanted a builder that was highly skilled and recommended by others. Our Architectural Designer had worked in with Colin Edge on a number of building projects and recommended his expertise. After our first consultation with Colin we were inspired by his workmanship and forward thinking ideas. Colin was happy to take us to previous building projects to show us his craftsmanship and also putting forward ideas that would work within our own project and budget.
We found Colin and his staff fantastic to work with, and approached our house build with a professional attitude and an eye for detail. As you hear through many people, building can be a very stressful and expensive exercise. We found working with Edge Builders to be the complete opposite, making our project an enjoyable journey until the completion of our home. Colin was very accommodating in working in with our time frames and ideas. We also had the advantage of living onsite for the final 6 weeks of our build and Colin went beyond being a builder and made sure our family had the bare necessities, ie toilet, shower and washing machine, to help us function living onsite.
If I was to put any builders name forward for future work I would highly recommend Colin Edge and his team. Two years down the track of living in our home, we are very happy with every aspect of working with him and the outstanding standard of our home.

Having lived next door to Colin’s parents for many years we learnt that Colin’s father Graham was not only a dedicated and fastidious builder, but a perfectionist. Colin became Grahams apprentice and was taught those same skills and dedication. They both worked together for several years until Graham retired. Colin carried on with same tradition and has built many fine homes. When we ourselves decided to build a new home on our lifestyle section Colin was our obvious choice and we were very pleased with the end result. Colin was very helpful and easy to work with and kept us up to date regularly as the job progressed.

Colin is of the old school style builders who are hard to find today. Do it once, do it right, seems to be his motto. Colin has been plying his trade for many years now and is well known for his excellent quality work. He is particularly fussy over detail, punctuality, work ethic, and demands the high quality standards from his workers and tradesmen that he himself aspires to. Nothing is too much trouble and he will go the extra yard in achieving satisfaction for his many new and long-term clients. Many of his apprentices have gone on to excellent futures in the trade and often return to work with and under him.
I have had a long association with Colin in that he has been building various projects in the housing and commercial area for me for many years. We have a special relationship in that projects are done between us with word of mouth contracts and not even a handshake. Trust has to be his best testimonial. In the last few years Colin Edge Builders have completed two new quality residences for me. This for me was an exercise made easy, in that working on site most of the time with Colin the small changes to detail were sorted as we went. Problems arising seemed small as they were not left or overlooked but dealt with at the time. His sub trades personnel are largely static and can be relied upon to turn up when required and do their job.
I have no hesitation in fully recommending Colin to anyone whom wants a quality tradesmen who cares, in building and creating a home which will have the finish not always seen today. He is in high demand and his work comes mainly by word of mouth, which must be testimony in itself.
